How to improve the readability of content?
Why readability is so important? Because it decides the reader to stay on your page or not. Having a super cool idea in your mind is not enough to create content or a blog. You should be able to communicate with your readers and they have to get the idea at the same level you have in your mind about the topic. The success of your writing depends on how happy your readers about your writing. Happy readers aids in more impact on your business and more money. If you consider your written work as a puzzle, your reader can able to solve the puzzle. That is readability. You can use more complex words and vocab on your writing with long hard to get sentences to make the puzzle tough or you can use simple, easy to understand words and convey in a manner even students can easily understand what you are written. Short, simple, easy to understand words can improve readability. Using simple and short words is the primary point in creating good readability content. Remember, when creating a book or a blog or a webpage, it is not a place where you can showcase your vocab or deep knowledge in the language. You are not writing for yourself. The purpose of content creation is to reach people at different levels. So try to make the sentences shorter with easy to understand words. In case you are using any complex or strange words (because sometimes the plot demands it) it is your duty (writer’s duty) to make it clear to the readers in the same sentence or the very next sentence. Never bring multiple ideas in one sentence. If you have more than one idea to convey, use more than one sentence for that. Creating great sentences is not the goal, creating unique complex sentences doesn’t make you a great writer. String together all those ideas in your mind to create simple short sentences, you will be amazed at how great your content can become. Always write sentences in the active voice. Usage of passive voice uses more words and it will unnecessarily bore readers. Use subheadings in your writings for a better understanding of the descriptions. The subheading is the little rest stop along the road. It will also help to organize your writing and give you an alarm when you ramble or going out of context. Adding visual elements to your content is a treat to your readers. When you use charts, infographics, pictures, etc in your content helps the readers to absorb information more easily. Using personal language in writing is a great idea. It will save readers from the boredom of the cliché writing style. A well-organized content will save a lot of time and energy of the user. Adding some humor and entertainment to your content is a good idea. If you can make your writer laugh and entertain they will more likely to stick on to your writings. Benefits of good readability To get rank higher in Search Engine Results Page, your website should be readable. When you make your content readable, more people are likely to frequently visit. Better readability results in more traffic to your site. If your site is full of complex words they will not show in the SERP. Users will search for the keywords they know. So better readability helps to bring more traffic to your website. Your site should be usable by its target audience. Do not be tempted to write content to a readability level that could exclude your ideal viewers. A better readability score equals a higher rate of usability. Improved usability increases page views, engagement, and conversions. Creating content is to increase conversion rates. Micro conversions also impact the business, like clicking a link, watching a video, etc. More readable content means more conversions. What matters more is the readers have to stick on to the webpage to convert. For the success of business high-quality readable contents are important. Readable content keeps them coming and stay, indirectly customers have faith in your business.
Have you ever heard about corner stone articles?
Cornerstone content means the heart of your website. It should consist of all the important information on the website. The most important articles which you need to rank first in the SERP. Cornerstone articles are long informative articles which are a combination of different blog posts and it covers everything important about that topic. The motive of the cornerstone article is to provide complete information on a particular topic so that the reader need not go to any other page. Rather than a business, the cornerstone article tries to catch their user’s attention on their website by reflecting your business or communicate about your service or product. It can be a blog post or a page but make sure that it is well written and contains the keywords you want to rank higher in the SERP. Another important thing is you must edit your cornerstone article at times to make it up to date. When you write your blog post content you could link back to your cornerstone content as much as possible. Cornerstone content helps to achieve many of your marketing goals. Goals like getting links to your website, finding new readers, attracting new customers through email subscriptions, getting higher rank in SERP, etc. Difference between cornerstone content and a blog post A blog post is usually a detail-rich and focused on a particular topic. But the cornerstone page is on the other hand. It is the hub of information regarding that particular topic. Cornerstone content is broad and wide while the blog post is narrow and deep. Why cornerstone contents are essential The foremost reason is cornerstone contents are useful and relevant for your website visitors. When it is inclusive and interesting people would like to link back and share. When should I create a cornerstone Content Cornerstone content should be your priority while you launch your website. It will be the foundation of your website and all the other content should support and reinforce the cornerstone content. It will help to create more internal links on your website. As you continue to build content on your website, you notice one particular content is getting popularity, You can create a cornerstone content on that particular topic to attract customers and readers. Or you can write five to six blog posts on a particular topic and you can create a cornerstone content on that topic as a foundation. How long should be the cornerstone content There is no particular word count for cornerstone content. The objective of the content should clearly explain the topic to a reader and provide enough information so that search engines can identify what the page is about. Where exactly should be cornerstone content on your website Cornerstone articles are relatively high in your site structure. The home page of your website must link directly to the cornerstone contents. If you have already launched your website and you never have thought about a cornerstone article before, you can still create a cornerstone article on the articles on your website that do well in SERP. As a first step, research your keywords. Find the keywords your users search for. Choose the best topic relevant to the keyword and create cornerstone content. Or if you already have content related to that keyword rewrite it. Make it SEO friendly and an extremely good article. Focus more on readability. Optimize your other content on long-tail variants. Optimize your other blog posts which are having long-tail keywords that can be linked back to cornerstone contents. This will avoid competition on SERP with other articles on your websites. So linking back to cornerstone articles from other posts on your website is important, this will help Google know that the cornerstone article is the one you want to reach your users.
What is Page Authority?
Page Authority is a score created by SaaS organisation Moz that foresee how great a particular page will rank on search engine result pages (SERP). Page Authority scores range from 1 to 100, the higher your score greater your ability to rank. Page Authority is based on data from the web index and takes into account dozens of factors. It is associated with link metrics, so any attempt to boost your score depends on your internal and external linking. Page authority is measuring on a 1 to 100 algorithmic scale. Moz updates the algorithm frequently. So you can see the page authority rank of your webpages fluctuating all the time. It is clearly easy to increase your page authority score from 20 to 30 than grow it from 70 to 80. It is measured in a similar way as Domain Authority but at the single page level. Page Authority depends on information from the Mozscape web index and includes link counts and a plethora of other factors. Essentially, page authority will not take into account particular on-page elements like keyword use or content optimisation. This is measured with the help of an algorithm and thus the page authority score will fluctuate as the algorithm gets updated. So it’s always best to use the Page Authority as a parallel metric to compare against other page’s scoring and the rank ability of any one page. Let’s see a few important steps to boost your page authority1) It focuses on the ability of a specific page to rank building links to the page you are optimising is essential2) Each of the pages on your website must have packed with well optimised quality content. 3) You must build your domain authority, as you build the authority of your domain, it will boost the authority of each page on your website.4) Audit your website often and remove harmful and bad backlinks As with several factors of SEO, you will not always have direct control over your page authority. You will never find a quick or easy method that will assure you success. However, if you follow the above steps while building your individual page, you have a great chance of boosting both your rankings and page authority.
No marketing means no business!
Every human has intelligence and emotions by nature. Both should be united united to create stories on why you do what you do. That story is called marketing. No marketing means no business. BTW, what is marketing? Marketing is defined by many academicians and industrialist in so many ways. There is no concrete one definition for marketing. Everyone is right in their own experience. Because marketing makes or breaks the business. In my opinion, marketing is nothing but the process of making as much as happy customers for your product or service and converting them as your brand ambassador. Every one knows the word of mouth is the best and proven marketing. But now days word of mouth has become electronic. Electronic word spreads faster at a lightening speed. Word of mouth becomes viral. The first tweet from first show of a super star movie decides its box office fate. That is it. It spreads electronically at an unimaginable speed even before first show gets over. In fact, the second show of a movie by a popular hero is decided by one first tweet from a fan while watching the first show. Most of the time, main stream and traditional medias nowadays depends upon the things coming from social media. During this digital era, making customers happy became more than ever. Making initial adapters to your service and product has become predominant as it has direct influence over your top line.
Everyone is an innovator by nature.
Every human has intelligence and emotions by nature. That natural intelligence pushed man to cross oceans, discover new continents, conquer new lands, touch down on moon, invent steam engines, create abstractions like country, continent, UN, world bank, international court etc Everything has happened because of one word Innovation! Innovation:Startups are born based on new innovation. To be an innovator, everyone thinks that we have to become a Elon mask or Bill gates or Steve Jobs etc. Actually, they were like what we are today. They became innovators and changed the world order by using their common sense. According to me, innovation is nothing but identifying an obstacle in our life and removing the obstacle by using our common sense. Let me explain this little further with an example. Assume that you are on a road travelling. While travelling on a road, we notice a big stone or a rock obstructing our path to proceed further. 99.99% of the traveller would complain that rock and make a small diversion left or right that blocked road and start to move on. Other would follow the diversion and new path is made. That new diverted path might be a longer one consuming and not smoother consuming more fuel and more time. This majority crowd continues to blame that stone for sometime. After sometime they get habituated to that new road and stop complaining about that stone which is obstructing the way. Gradually, that stone would disappear from the mind of people. This majority crowd is just a complainers and follow the path made by someone. When this continues, one day one person thinks that because of this block of stone, every one suffers taking a diversion. Everyone spends more fuel and time. He decided to slice that rock into pieces by hammering it. One fine day he comes to that location with a hammer in his hand and start to break that rock. When he was doing that, many would brand him as he is a sick person. What is the necessity for him to spend time every day to break that stone. But without giving ear and eye to others, he keeps on breaking and one fine day, he has broken the stone and removed all debris and make a straight road and construct a toll booth also. Now he comes up with a story that you can sane fuel, money and time if you pay little toll here and take this straight root. Seeing that advantage of using straight and smooth road, passengers start to pay toll. Now this person has become an entrepreneur. This person has become an innovator. He is not a Steve Jobs or Elon Mask. But he used his common sense to remove that obstacle. This is the innovation. This is the startup. So in order to become an innovator, look around closely and observe the society and things around you. There might be a pain for people but habituated to that. There might be an obstacle. Now use your common sense to remove that obstacle to become an entrepreneur and innovator.
Everyone has a passion naturally. What is it?
Every human has intelligence and emotions naturally. That natural intelligence pushed man to cross oceans, discover new continents, conquer new lands, land on moon, invent steam engines, create abstractions like country, continent, UN, world bank, international court etc Everything happened because of one word Passion! The word passion is the most misunderstood word. Everyone has a different definition and understanding. In my opinion, finding an emotional attachment to the what we do is passion. I am an average student till 8th grade at my school though my parents insisted a lot on studies and continued to push me study well. But I never listened to their advise and continue to perform in subpar level. When I was in 8th grade, my parents arranged some function at my home. Around 130 of my relatives did attend that function. Being lived in village, most of my relatives live in village doing farming as their prime work. Among that 130 people, almost 110 people were farmers. Remaining small set of people studied and got married to nice girls from decent family. I was able to see the clear difference between people who do farming and people who work as doctors and engineers. The educated people got married to nice girls with good family background, their children were speaking good English, dressed up nicely and some owned cars also. So I quickly learned that education made that difference. So to change the life style as I was also born to a farmer, I decided to study well. Now I got the reason for why I had to study. As soon as I found the reason for why I had to study, I got so attached to that emotional reason. After that realisation, I started to goto to school regularly, took the teachers and studies more seriously. Became a different person focussing on studies. Because of that, I did score 100 out of 100 in mathematics in my government school. I did well in +2 also and joined engineering to study electronics and communication. In the college also, I ended up scoring first mark in the college and over all second in the university. Finally I say that passion is nothing but finding an emotional attachment to what you do. As soon as I found my passion for studies, I started to study well and earned engineering degree. So I am asking you to be more attentive and observe deeply into yourself to find why you do what you do. if you find that, that is the passion. The crowd really cheered for this definition.
Why Schema or structure data should be implemented in your webpage?
Schema is a type of microdata (code) you use on your website that helps search engines to interpret the information on the website more efficiently so search engines can serve relevant answers to the user’s search query. Schema categorizes items in the website for the search engines. To be clear schema feeds data in a structured manner to search engines. Date and time can be very difficult to interpret by the search engine. This is because the date and time are formatted differently. Including schema microdata in your HTML tag can help search engine crawlers interpret the information on the website efficiently. This will result in improved visibility. However, never think that including schema to the HTML code as a hack to improve SEO, consider it as a best practice to make it easier for the search engine to find and display the content effectively. The inclusion of schema microdata is not considered as a factor for increasing the rank in the SERP. It improves the website’s rich snippet, which can help your site to appear in the SERP prominently. It is a fact that clear, concise, and rich snippets can result in enhanced click-through rates as users can easily determine the information provided on your website is what they are really looking for. Although Schema mark up is not included as the part of Google ranking, it is considered important for SEO. Google has announced that structured data or schema mark up will be included in the ranking algorithm in the near future. It is something that is developing and gaining its place. Using these tools, you can visually tag your pages and generate the required HTML code, but you still have to edit your HTML files or templates. It is recommended to use JSON-LD (JavaScript Option Notation-Linked Data) Markup Format. The generated output is a script you can insert in the HEAD section of your webpage. How to check for Structured Data errors? Other than checking your website with a structured data testing tool there are two other methods to check the structured data errors within Google Search Console. You can use the URL inspection tool to inspect any page from your website. Among other things, the result will show you structured data-related issues.
